The Dream Winter Continues

"I will tell my grandkids about streaming down Boomerang Ridge where the only thing muffling my yelling was the powder in my wind pipe." Jay's Report on conditions in Fernie, Jan 7, 07

And it is not simply Fernie that is enjoying epic ski conditions this winter. All resorts in Canada's West continue to receive new snow; every other day it seems.

6 meters (20 feet) and counting at Kicking Horse in Golden.

Its not too late for you to enjoy our bounty

Here are comments from two clients who contacted us in December to help them organize their ski vacation for the holiday season.

"I was impressed with how quickly and promptly you were able to
find accommodations and to book exactly what I needed as my circumstances changed. You succeeded in making my ski trip possible" Eugene O'Leary, Saskatoon, SK

"Wow - we had such a wonderful time in BC. (Kicking Horse) The snow was fabulous, the scenery was absolutely spectacular and the people we met were all so friendly and welcoming. All around A+ trip. Thank you so much for helping to make it happen." Ellen Brice, San Diego, CA.

Excellent turns in Banff/Lake Louise

Late last week, I had the good fortune to be joined by two amazing clients from Sweden. Bo and Anne-Marie, first tasted the Canadian Rockies back in 1991, when they decided to try heli-skiing for the
first time.

Being uncertain of their abilities in deep powder snow, they came a few days earlier, to become accustomed to the conditions and also
to adjust their bodies to the 8 hour time difference. It was to be a "life-time" experience.

So enthralled were they with the skiing here, that they have since come to Canada to heli-ski a total of 13 times and haven't bothered
to return to the Alps.

Now in their 60's, they show us all that skiing is definitely a life-long pursuit. That is Anne-Marie above right, showing her powder skiing prowess in Brownshirt, on the back-side of Lake Louise last Friday. The entire bowl was deserted except for us. Simply delightful.

It was definitely a privilege for me to be their guide for a couple of days before they headed off to the Adamant Lodge with CMH.

"Better than Good"

A month ago, I was at a conference in Los Angeles. A very energetic and fit 80 year old man named Zig Zigler, was one of the speakers. His main theme was all about how one could live a life that was "better than good".

I liked his premise and am now working at incorporating this creed into my own life. One thing I can tell you, for all of us who are hitting
our Western Canadian slopes right now, it is definitely "better than good'!

warm regards,
